This was an awesome weekend of family fishing at the Waipipi Beach Fishing Comp.  Waipipi is an amazing place we have been lucky enough to work for the owners for the past 5 and half years and we have enjoyed many beautiful days here.  I would love to have a beach house here one day!!  Here are some photos from our 2-day adventure trying to catch the biggest snapper in the very first Waipipi Beach fishing comp.  We didn’t win but I won a fish fillet set and we got heaps of fish to share with our family. It was a hard case to see all the first people waiting to start early work for us Soutar Farms Ltd on Rosemount & Awatea Dairy units, all very keen fishermen and woman determined to get their rods in the water.  It was pretty dark so I had to bump up the ISO to get the first morning shots using my sigma prime 35mm f1.2 lens.  On the second day I used my old favorite sigma lens 24-70mm f 2.8 for its ability to get wider angles and some creative effects for some landscape shots. I had the best time and I loved taking photos and catching fish.  The comp was very well organised and the Dickie boys & their team did an epic job of looking after all the Boaties and surfcasters, thanks guys we will defiantly be back to win next time!!!!
